Self-discipline means self-control. It is doing what you really want to do, rather than being tossed around by your feelings like a leaf in the wind. You act instead of react. You get things done in an orderly and efficient way. With self-discipline, you take charge of yourself.

If we are leaning all about virtues, which is the way for sure- I think Self-Discipline is the key. Without it, we will surely be tossed like a leaf in the wind. When we are not anchored to anything and we react instead of respond – there is in many cases little self control  and self-discipline.

There are many times that we “don’t feel like it” and self-discipline is making the choice to do it anyway. I definitely feel like there are some key factors here. One is vision- when there is no vision for a future, the people really do perish. Living a life of mediocrity, day to day, surviving. This is a much different approach to life than the choice to thrive. To not only have a vision, but to be committed to it and have the self-discipline to stay on course and do what needs to be done.

There is no judgement here. We have all experienced being off track for one reason or another. Its important to self correct and to get back on track. I recently heard that “Our distractions become our addictions” and I believe that’s true. Be careful what you give your time and attention to – because we really are creating all the time~

Make your bed in the morning – start the day with cleanliness and orderliness- set some goals, make a plan and follow it.  Surround yourself with people that love you enough to call you on your stuff and hold you accountable- and stay the course.
