Truthfulness is being honest in your words and actions. You don’t tell lies even to defend yourself. Don’t listen to gossip or prejudice. See the truth for yourself. Don’t try to be more than you are to impress others. Be yourself, your true self.

There’s no coincidence that Trust, Trustworthiness and Truthfulness are back to back virtues. Are we willing to look at how many times on a daily bases we out of integrity with ourselves or others. I believe that personal responsibility is the key- if what we think, say, feel and do are not in alignment – that is the place to start.

Am I truthful with myself? Am I honoring myself and the goals I have set for myself? Am I doing things in my life that I know do not support my highest vision?  Do I have a goal, a vision or plan for my life? Am I willing make one and am I willing to be be held accountable?

Am I truthful with others? Do I agree out loud about things that silently I don’t feel good about? Am I complaining to everyone about my circumstances or situation except for the person or people that can do something about it? Am I gossiping about others? Am being truthful in my relationships – with my significant other or my children? at work or with my friends? And… what are the prices that are being paid when I am not truthful?

These are questions that only we can answer for ourselves.

I certainly don’t claim to be a guru or have all of the answers. I obviously have to look in the mirror and start with myself.  I have done things that I have needed to be forgiven for and there have been times in my life that I have not always been truthful-  What I recognize though is that I am the solution to my challenges. Every virtue that has been discussed (50 so far) is valuable. Everything Matters- what we think, what we do, what we say, how we BE…

As we reach the end of this year – lets not create temporary resolutions- lets create a vision, write out some goals and get committed to a plan of action so that we will experience new and different results in our lives.

If it is to be- it is up to me!
