Through David’s lens, there is a purity and joy that so many of us have lost along the way. In his simplicity, there is wisdom. As you read the story of Azzgion, the name David likes for himself, I hope you read it with compassion and an open mind. He shares openly, with complete trust and vulnerability. I did not edit or change his words. Some of them may seem inappropriate, incomplete, or disorganized—and that, of course, is where you are at choice to have judgment or curiosity.
 
After our mom passed away in 2021, I stepped in to help watch over David. I am his caretaker, driver, grocery store and medical appointment companion, house manager, and sister.
 
Over the last several years, I’ve been humbled by David’s sensitive nature, by his thoughtfulness and the care he has for others. Technically he has a condition that labels him in a category of a disability and yet his disposition and the simplicity of his happiness makes me wonder about who in the world actually has a condition.
